Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed that the company's next-generation AI model, Gemini 3.0, will launch before the end of 2025, generating significant anticipation across the tech industry–particularly as Google's Gemini app has reached only 650 million monthly active users, whilst OpenAI's ChatGPT maintains approximately 800 million weekly active users.
Gemini 3.0 is expected to represent a major advancement in AI agents capable of autonomously executing complex, multi-step tasks. Traders on the Polymarket prediction platform have assigned a 69 per cent probability that the model will release on 22 November, with more than $800,000 wagered on this event. Pichai responded by posting two thinking face emojis on X, which further intensified speculation. Internal sources from Google's AI operations team indicate the Gemini 3.0 launch is targeted between 15 November and 5 December, aligning with Google's historical release pattern as Gemini 2 launched in early December 2023 and Bard's major update arrived in late November 2024.
The significance of Gemini 3.0 extends beyond a simple model update, as Google aims to reclaim its leading position against OpenAI. Alphabet's revenue topped $100 billion for the first time in Q3 2025, driven largely by Google Cloud and AI features. According to Business Insider's internal sources, the new model is extremely impressive, which could give Google the opportunity to seize the top spot in the generative AI race. Whilst the precise release date remains uncertain, all indicators clearly point to late Q4 2025 when the company will unveil its most advanced AI agent to date.
