Google and the Polish government signed a strategic partnership agreement on February 13, 2025, to develop artificial intelligence, primarily focusing on energy and cybersecurity. The agreement includes a $5 million training program to develop the digital skills of one million Polish citizens over the next five years.

Google is already a significant player in Poland: the company's Warsaw campus opened in 2015 and has grown to become the company's largest engineering center with more than 2,000 employees. At a joint press conference with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, it was announced that generative AI is expected to increase Poland's GDP by 8% over the next decade. The tech giant previously opened a $2 billion cloud-based data center in Warsaw in 2021, intending to make the city Europe's cloud capital. According to Pichai, Poland's leadership, ambitions, and talents have secured a new position in European innovation.

The current agreement represents another milestone in the development of the Polish technology sector. The memorandum of understanding signed with the Polish Development Fund (PFR) provides a framework for Google's further investments in the country. Prime Minister Tusk announced that Microsoft will sign a similar cooperation agreement with Poland next week, further strengthening the country's position in European technological innovation. Brad Smith, Microsoft's Vice President, previously stated that Poland can become the European center for artificial intelligence development.
